2005 Season - Week 9
Hall of Fame Nominations
Don’t forget to get you Hall of Fame player nominations back to me by Sunday November 20th (yes that is Trading Day 2). I’m still waiting for a few ballots so if you’ve not done so yet please vote. Attached again for your convenience are the 10 men who have been chosen for nomination. Simply select your favourite 5 players (in order) and email them back to me.
Trading Day 2
This will start at 3:30pm on Sunday week, November 20th before the week 11 games of Tampa Bay @ Atlanta followed by Indianapolis @ Cincinnati. As mentioned last week both Aaron and Paul have lost Franchise players for the year and there are a few other players who are injured or underperforming who may see themselves cut. A list of additional players and the trade order will be sent out in next weeks newsletter but in the meantime please let me know if you are attending, we’d love to see you.
TO = WOT
Terrell Owens has been “Keyshawned”. As Tampa Bay did to Keyshawn in 2003 so Philadelphia have done to TO. After more controversy he has been suspended by The Eagles for 4 games (starting last Sunday) but told once the suspension is over he will be paid but not welcome back to the team. When The Bucs did this to Johnson it made news but he is just an average receiver who thinks he is better than he really is, TO is one of the league’s elite players so this news is huge. He may be great on the field but clearly he is too much trouble off it, which is why sadly Terrell Owens = Waste Of Talent.
Halfway to History
At the mid point of the season not 1 but 2 running backs are on course to pass Priest Holmes single season touchdown record of 27 set in 2003. In San Diego LaDainian Tomlinson has run for 13 and caught 2 more (not to mention the 3 he has thrown this year) while up the coast in Seattle Shaun Alexander has rushed for 14 scores. I’ll keep an eye on this for you.
Nickname Proposal
John Botten, the man that brought you the split division proposal, which causes so much stress/joy depending on whether you are in the Promotion battle or the drop zone fight, now suggests we all know each other well enough and that we should all choose a nickname for our teams. Just for you to consider now but we will look to vote on this later in the year.
BUMS on Seats.
We will be at HQ from 6pm on Sunday to watch New England @ Miami – the winner goes top of the AFC East – who would have predicted that before the season started. That’s followed by the important NFC West clash as St Louis travel to Seattle.
